Dr. Dawn Howse, Physician and Humanitarian
Newfoundlanders and Labradorians have a history of stepping up to go where we’re needed, and Dawn Howse’s medical career is a demonstration of that. Starting off as one of Memorial University’s youngest-ever medical graduates, Dawn practiced medicine on the province’s West coast before bringing her skills and compassion to underserviced areas of Zimbabwe through the Salvation Army. There, she spent two decades tirelessly caring for patients while also serving as a scholar, advocate, manager, and much more – eager to do whatever was needed to support those in need.
