Liam Hickey, Paralympian
What do you do when you’re born without a femur in your right leg? Well, if you’re Liam Hickey, you become a professional athlete, of course. Liam has been playing para ice hockey and wheelchair basketball since he was a kid, and with huge success. In fact, he’s one of the only athletes to compete at both summer and winter Paralympic Games, helping Canada win a silver medal in both sports. From a star athlete in his hometown of St. John’s to an Olympic medalist in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Liam is a very busy man – traveling the world, filling his trophy case, and changing minds about what people with disabilities are capable of. We can’t wait to see what he does next.
